The pandemic, as well as the projected slow and uneven recovery, are putting additional pressures on the SDG timeline. Financing sustainable development means ensuring and incentivizing that all significant financial flows are conducive to sustainable development. After all, it is a lack of development -- when people have no education, and no jobs, and no hope, a feeling that their basic human dignity is being violated -- that helps fuel so much of the tensions and conflict and instability in our world.
